Hey Love,
This post may not resonate with everyone, but it’s for those who find themselves wrestling with shame or guilt because of their profession as a stripper. If you’ve ever felt a heavy weight in your heart or questioned your place in God’s love because of your choices, know that you’re not alone. Shame can be a powerful force, but it doesn’t have to define your faith journey. Forgiveness—both from God and for yourself—is available, and God’s grace is bigger than anything you might be carrying.
God’s Forgiveness is Unconditional
One of the most powerful truths in the Bible is that God’s forgiveness is unconditional. It doesn’t depend on your past or your present. Romans 8:1 reminds us, “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” If you’ve confessed your struggles to God and sought His forgiveness, rest assured that you are fully forgiven. Through Jesus’ sacrifice, God wipes away your sins and invites you into a loving relationship with Him.
Sometimes, the hardest part of forgiveness is believing it’s real. You might wonder, “But what about this part of my life? Can God truly forgive that?” The answer is yes. God’s love is boundless, and His grace extends to every part of your life, no matter how messy it might seem. Accepting this forgiveness can bring freedom and healing to your heart.
Learning to Forgive Yourself
Even when you know God has forgiven you, forgiving yourself can feel like an uphill battle. Self-forgiveness is an essential step toward letting go of guilt and embracing the new identity God gives you. Remember that holding onto guilt doesn’t serve you or your faith journey. Instead, it keeps you stuck in a place God never intended for you to remain.
Start by speaking truth to yourself. Replace negative self-talk with God’s promises. For instance, Isaiah 1:18 says, “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow.” This is God’s declaration over your life—He sees you as new and clean, not as your past mistakes. Surround yourself with people and resources that remind you of this truth and encourage you to grow in grace and love.
Steps Toward Releasing Guilt
Letting go of guilt is a process, and it often involves intentional steps. Begin with prayer, asking God to help you release the shame and accept His forgiveness fully. Be honest with Him about your feelings—God wants to meet you where you are and guide you toward healing.
Next, dive into scripture to understand how deeply God loves and values you. Passages like Psalm 103:12, which says, “As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us,” can be a source of hope and encouragement. Meditate on these verses, letting their truths sink into your heart.
Finally, consider seeking support. Whether it’s through a trusted friend, pastor, or counselor, talking about your struggles can be a powerful way to find healing and accountability. Sometimes, guilt thrives in isolation, but sharing your journey with others who reflect God’s love can help you move forward.
Redemption is Yours
The Bible is full of stories of redemption—people who made mistakes, faced judgment, and still found God’s grace. From the woman caught in adultery (John 8:1-11) to the prodigal son (Luke 15:11-32), God consistently shows that no one is beyond His love and forgiveness. These stories aren’t just for ancient times; they’re for you, too.
God sees your heart, your struggles, and your desire for change. He doesn’t define you by your profession or your past—He defines you as His beloved child. Trust in His promises, forgive yourself as He forgives you, and let go of the guilt that’s holding you back. You are worthy of love, peace, and joy, and God is ready to walk with you every step of the way.
